Job Description - Visitor Information Center Coordinator
Overview: The visitor information centre(VIC) coordinator oversee the day-to-day operation of the visitor
information centre, assisting visitors by providing information, as well as supervising staff and carrying out administrative
functions. The coordinator will be based in the Hwy #11 VIC. He/She will perform the same tasks as a visitor information
counselor, but must divide their time between those duties and the supervisory duties of planning, operations management and
staff supervision. In addition they will be required to support regional VIC’s.
Duties: Manage human resources, such as scheduling staff and conducting training oversee information
services, resolve problems and respond to feedback, perform administrative tasks gather information and develop new resources
using business management skills.
Experience: A supervisor of visitor information counselors must have experience in that role, or in
customer service. Extensive knowledge of local attractions, events and tourism services are necessary, as are excellent communication,
administrative and time management skills. Supervisory or management experience is an asset.
Education: Post secondary training, such as a college diploma or degree in tourism or business, is or experience attained
as a Tourism/Visitor Information Counselor.
Career Path: Information Centre Manager, Regional General Manager.
Additional Qualifications:
1. Able to have flexible work schedule ie. Evenings, weekends and holidays.
2. Valid driver’s license
and own transportation.
3. Working knowledge of current office and presentation software.
4. Bilingual English/French

Position #2 - Executive Director
Seeking
experienced professional to manage organizational operations, fundraising, Group Sales, marketing and member services for
MRTA
Implement community and economic development projects with the MRTA region, Boiestown to Tabusintac, Escuminac
& Rogersville
Requires organization building skills, proposal writing ability, personal diplomacy, excellent computer,
internet and writing skills and an ability to efficiently manage multiple projects. Bilingualism a definite asset.
Non-profit
management and budgeting, small business, municipalities and community development or relevant work history experience preferred.
Full-time salaried position. Starting salary commensurate with experience.
